The good news
of Jesus Christ.

God made us. Sin separates us from him. Jesus died and rose again to save us. He calls us to turn to him and follow.

Read the gospel
01 / God

Our Creator.

God made the world and made us in his image. He is holy and just.

Genesis 1:1 · Genesis 1:27 · Isaiah 6:3

What does “holy” mean?

God is set apart from everything he has made. He is good, and there is no evil in him. His goodness is the standard by which our lives are judged.

Psalm 89:14

02 / Us

Our sin.

All of us have sinned. We have turned from God and fallen short of his goodness.

Sin breaks our relationship with him. Its consequence is death.

Romans 3:23 · Romans 6:23 · Isaiah 59:2

What if I try to be a good person?

Doing good does not erase our guilt. We need forgiveness. The gospel begins with what God has done for us through Jesus, because we cannot save ourselves.

Ephesians 2:8-10

03 / Jesus

Our Savior.

Jesus lived without sin, died for our sins, and rose from the dead. Eternal life is God’s gift through him.

Jesus is the way to the Father. Our hope rests in him.

Hebrews 4:15 · 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 · John 14:6

Why does his resurrection matter?

The gospel announces that Jesus is alive. His death and resurrection are at the heart of the apostles’ message. Read Paul’s account of that message and the witnesses to the risen Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

04 / Follow

Our response.

Repent, believe, and follow Jesus.

Repentance means turning from sin toward God. Faith means trusting Jesus. Following him means learning to obey him in everyday life.

Speak honestly to God about your sin. Ask for his forgiveness. Talk with a pastor or mature Christian about baptism and becoming part of a church.

Acts 20:21 · Acts 2:38 · Luke 9:23

Do I earn salvation by following?

Salvation comes by God’s grace through faith. Good works cannot buy it. The same passage that calls salvation a gift says we are made in Christ to do good works.

Ephesians 2:8-10

05 / Eternity

His promise.
His warning.

Jesus promises eternal life and warns of eternal punishment. His call deserves an answer now.

Christian hope looks forward to a day without death or mourning. Scripture also warns of judgment. Take both seriously.

Revelation 21:4 · Revelation 21:8 · Matthew 25:46

A next step

Begin with
Mark’s Gospel.

Read what Jesus said and did. Bring your questions to a pastor or a Christian you trust, and ask them to read with you.

If you have been in church for years but are unsure where you stand, speak honestly about that too.
